Beautiful Nottingham Building

Established in 1948, Burt Bros is an ethically focused, family-run sock, hosiery, and underwear business currently in its third generation of family ownership.

It’s fitting that a company with such heritage occupies such a beautiful building with its own to match.

Recently, they identified a need to install lighting across the exterior of the building. They wanted the building façade to be lit up during the evenings, whilst having one main requirement in that the installed lighting products must not, under any circumstances, take away from the overall beauty of the building, and the installation must in fact, enhance the architectural features.

With the help of experienced contractors, the search began to identify a product which offered suitability and would not look out of place, whilst also providing sufficient power to fully showcase the building in all its glory during the hours of darkness.

After careful deliberation, the Ansell Ansell’s Rondo HP AC LED Surface/Spike Light was identified as being the optimum solution.

The Rondo is a high-performance, non-Dimmable, LED feature light, ideally suited for both hospitality and retail type applications. Having suitability for surface or spike mounting, with the spike accessory included, allowing flexibility for many different project solutions.

With superb build quality, supported by a die-cast aluminium construction with textured graphite paint finish, which gives the fixture appropriate visual appeal. Having a 60° beam angle, allows the light distribution pattern to provide illumination for the stone features, whilst creating superb contrast between the light and dark areas of the façade of this traditional building.

The Rondo fitting features integrated AC LED technology, having a 17 Watt LED and a colour temperature of 4000K and is pre-wired with 2 metres of H07RN-F cable for ease of installation as well as an ingress protection to IP65, makes it ideally suited for external use. The fitting offers an LED lifespan to L70 of 30,000 hours.

The completed project was a great success, with the Rondo fitting providing the perfect solution and most importantly, brought the building to life during the night.

Exterior lighting can transform how one can visibly see and understand the architectural features of a building, and Ansell were very pleased to have been able to design and supply an LED solution which ensures this beautiful building continues to have the brightest of light shining upon it.
