H-Cell IP20 Single White

The LEDs within COB (Chip-on-Board) LED Strip are mounted directly onto the PCB board, rather than the SMD (Surface Mounted Diode) chip, which is placed within a plastic casing, before being soldered onto the PCB. This means that in not having an outer casing, the COB LED chips are much smaller, allowing for a greater density of chips per metre of LED Strip, which offers the benefit of a seamless light output, creating a beneficial aesthetic effect, making it ideal for applications where the individual SMD LED chips may create a ‘spotting effect’.   

When using IP20 rated strip, this is possible with using the supplied connectors, however for IP65 and IP67 rated strip, the installer will be required to solder joints, in order to maintain ingress protection.

Ansell Lighting offer LED Strip for commercial and industrial use which can be controlled via Casambi and for residential use via WiZ with the installation of a controller.

As the distance increases away from the driver, the amount of light produced reduces by the stated factor and where the maximum length is exceeded, the LED Strip will at that point will appear visibly somewhat dimmer, however it will still continue to operate.

There is a maximum length stated for LED Strip and this will be dependent upon the characteristics of each different Strip. Basically, this is a low voltage DC circuit, where the amount of light produced by the individual LED’s is dependent upon receiving the specified forward current by way of the appropriate voltage, and this diminishes as the distance away from the Driver end of the strip increases. All LED Strips are quoted with details of the voltage drop over length. 

For many types of LED Strip, making a corner joint will require cutting and either reconnecting with connectors or in soldering the joints, however, the Ansell Z-Cell is an LED Strip which can bend around corners without connectors or accessories, thereby maintaining the continuity of the LED Strip across its length.

All LED Strip is marked with the appropriate cut points and the strip should only be cut at those marked points displayed on the Strip itself. As LED Strip is basically constructed from a number of circuits in series, which are then installed in parallel, cutting at any other point will result in the last circuit not being fully connected and therefore will not operate in producing illumination.
