“Well, to me, lighting is everything,” Colm says without hesitation. “You can have a venue, you can have a nice black wall, but you don’t have a venue without lighting.”

When Elevate Entertainment set out to develop their indoor mini-golf and bowling alley, the ambition was clear—create an environment that captivates, excites, and draws people in, both physically and digitally. To achieve that, Colm searched for a lighting solution that was not only visually impressive but also versatile and easy to manage. The installation was painless. It was actually easier than we thought.”

This smooth process translated to rapid turnaround times. The crazy golf installation was completed and fully operational in a single day—something almost unheard of in the world of entertainment fit-outs. The bowling alley took a little longer, at three days, owing to its complexity and larger scale, but was nonetheless delivered well within expectations. “We installed the mini-golf in one day. It was completely done and operational by evening time. And the bowling took three days because that was a huge lighting project.”

Once completed, the visual impact of the installations was immediately clear. With dynamic, customisable lighting now embedded throughout the venue, Elevate Entertainment took on a new energy—one that drew attention both from guests and online audiences.

“It’s so easy to promote on social media when you have something that looks extremely good,” Colm reflects. “Our bowling looks incredible, our mini-golf looks incredible. And again, that’s all down in my view to colour. Colour is everything when it comes to trying to promote. And social media is all about colour.”

In today’s entertainment landscape, where Instagram posts and TikTok videos can drive real business results, the importance of creating “camera-ready” spaces cannot be overstated. Ansell’s P-Cell lighting played a major role in helping Elevate achieve that.

But perhaps the biggest endorsement comes from Colm’s loyalty to Ansell. I don’t want anyone having what I have,” he laughs. “I’m just kidding. Absolutely. They’re so easy to work with. I’ve already introduced a colleague of mine to Ansell Lighting for a project he’s working on, and he’s very happy.”

Looking ahead, Colm is already planning future expansions, and there’s no question about which lighting company he’ll be working with. “We have a lot of future plans here, and it will be Ansell Lighting we will use for those projects. I look forward to having the team back to plan this out with us, and scratch heads, and put everything in place to make my business go forward.”
