The reception refurbishment of Building 8 of Exchange Quay was conducted by Jasper Sanders & Partners. An architecture and interior design studio who take a bold and innovative approach to ensuring spaces and places achieve their maximum potential for those that use and own them. The result is intelligent design tailored specifically to the needs of the client; design that challenges the status quo and promotes motivation and inspiration.

“It is an allusion when something appears interesting, aesthetically pleasing and therefore pretends to be good design – but somehow proves to be completely impractical and wasting space. Subsequently, as we move forward into a new future for office life this is something we cannot afford to ignore. Functionality it is imperative to make a space successful and this, combined with wise material choices, creates an environment tailored to the end user” says Jasper Sanders.

Previously a lifeless and cold space, JS+P uplifted the reception area of Building 8 to create a calm, confident and balanced space offering high quality amenities to match the service provided by CBRE. By zoning the reception area, JS+P have unlocked a variety of settings for lounging, taking phone calls, working independently, or in small groups; all areas are set out with Covid-19 in mind and offer employees a choice to venture out from their office or home desk into a diverse range of work and meeting settings.

Building 8’s interior blends into the campus of Exchange Quay taking a holistic approach to ensure the scheme feels at home within the wider range of building’s and amenities the site has to offer. By selecting a harmonised palette of finishes and mature colour choices the interior architecture now celebrates the architectural language at Exchange Quay, forming a cohesive journey from site entrance to individual’s desks. This scheme enhances the brand identity of Exchange Quay in a subtle manner, while offering the building its own flavour and ensuring design longevity.

JS&P, when designing the space needed a suspended linear that was perfect for commercial applications. Ansell’s Vasco LED Suspended Linear was the go-to option that could provide value for money and great quality. The Vasco is built with an aluminium extruded construction which allows the Vasco to look great in any office setting. It can supply bi-directional light output as standard with 70% downward light and 30% upward light ratio (directional only option can be selected if required).

Options allow for a selectable CCT between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K output and comes pre-wired with 1.5 metre cable. The suspended linear features adjustable suspension points as well as an opal diffuser which provides optimal light uniformity. The Vasco is packed full of features and comes with an LED lifespan of L90 36,000 hours making it one of the most reliable products in Ansell’s commercial line-up.
