Ansell’s Pace backlit panels and Vasco EVO  linears delivered a bright, modern and visually comfortable lighting scheme for the refurbishment of The Yellow Agency’s office space at Consortia Group HQ in Liverpool.

The Brief

The Yellow Agency — a creative agency with ambition to match — required a lighting solution that reflected the character of their newly refurbished workspace at Consortia Group HQ in Liverpool. The brief was straightforward but uncompromising: the finished space needed to feel bright, modern and professional, while remaining visually comfortable for a team spending long hours working across screens and creative materials.

The layout of the space presented two distinct lighting challenges. The main open working areas required a clean, uniform level of illuminance suitable for day-to-day office tasks, with no compromise on visual comfort. The alcove areas, which form a key architectural feature of the refurbished space, required a surface-mounted solution that could deliver quality light output in a more compact ceiling void, complementing the overall aesthetic of the room without overpowering it.

The Ansell Solution

Two products from the Ansell range were selected to address the differing requirements of the space, working together to create a coherent and considered lighting scheme throughout.

The Pace 600×600 UGR<19 backlit panel was specified for the main ceiling throughout the open plan workspace. The Pace panel’s UGR<19 rating was central to its selection — ensuring the lighting scheme would meet the visual comfort requirements of a busy creative office environment, eliminating problematic glare for staff working at screens throughout the day. Its slimline backlit design delivers a smooth, uniform light output across the ceiling plane, creating the bright and clean aesthetic the brief demanded. With CCT selectable between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K and power selectable outputs, the Pace panel offered the flexibility to dial in precisely the right light quality for the space, all within a single, practical luminaire.

For the alcove areas, the Vasco EVO CCT Multi Wattage surface-mounted linear was the product of choice. Ceiling mounted within the alcoves, the Vasco EVO’s aluminium body and opal diffuser deliver a high-quality finish that sits confidently within the refurbished interior. Its bi-directional light output — with 70% directed downward and 30% upward — ensures the alcove areas are well lit while contributing a sense of depth and warmth to these architectural features. With efficiency of up to 150lm/W and a rated lifetime of L80 100,000 hours, the Vasco EVO offers long-term performance well suited to a busy commercial environment. CCT selectability between 3000K and 4000K allowed the colour temperature across the alcoves to be matched precisely to the Pace panels in the main ceiling, ensuring a consistent and cohesive look throughout the entire space.

The Result

The completed refurbishment at Consortia Group HQ presents The Yellow Agency with a workspace that is as considered in its lighting as it is in its design. The Pace panels deliver a clean, glare-free working environment across the open plan areas, while the Vasco EVO linears bring quality light and a polished finish to the alcove spaces, adding definition and warmth to the room’s key architectural features.

Together, the two products demonstrate how a well-chosen combination from the Ansell range can address multiple lighting challenges within a single commercial space — delivering both the performance and the visual finish that a modern creative office demands.
