Lakes College

When the Lakes college undertook a major refurbishment throughout the buildings, part of that process included the opportunity to upgrade their lighting in attempting to achieve a more modern appeal, using fittings to align with the new design and colour scheme of the building.

Whilst mains lighting was included within the communal areas of the college, featuring the Ansell Deco, an architectural designed compact pendant has a die-cast housing and an aluminium reflector, ideal for perfectly meeting with the modern and fresh look of the college.

The main focus of the project was based around providing compliant emergency lighting signage around the site, which was achieved using two different fittings, firstly the Ansell Encore Exit Box and secondly, the Ansell Eagle 3-in-1 Exit Sign, which were used in the various corridor locations and at the intersection points as well as at the place of final exit.

The Encore fitting is a modern looking, low profile and compact polycarbonate Exit box with a LiFePO4 lithium battery for improved performance, superb reliability, and an extended life, allowing the product to be offered with a 6-year warranty. Self-test as standard, with a white 6500K LED light source, allowing a viewing distance of up to 30 metres, and is supplied with all the different legend options of arrow down / up / left / right, meaning that everything is in the box for the luminaire installation. Having 20mm top and rear entry aids ease of install alongside being available in both black and white, means suitability for all applications.

The Eagle 3-in-1 Exit fitting also has a modern design and is offered enabling a choice of three different mounting positions, that of suspended, recessed or side-arm mounted, making it ideal for a variety of installations. Supplied with 1 metre suspension cables as standard as well as having a self-test facility as standard and with a white 6500K LED light source, this fitting has a viewing distance of 25 metres.
