Smart Lighting Transforms Pitts Wilson’s Bradford Boardroom

A meeting room needs to work just as effectively for presentations and video calls as it does for collaborative sessions and formal board meetings. At Pitts Wilson’s Bradford office, a new lighting scheme was designed to provide this flexibility while creating a modern, professional environment with a distinctive feature wall.

The Brief

The aim was to create a versatile lighting scheme that could adapt to the different ways the meeting room and boardroom is used throughout the working day.

Effective illumination was required over the central meeting table, while additional lighting around the perimeter would provide balanced illumination throughout the room. The scheme also needed a decorative element that could transform the atmosphere of the space when required.

Smart control was central to the project, allowing the different lighting elements to work together and giving users greater flexibility over the look and feel of the room.

The Solution

Vasco EVO linear luminaires were suspended directly above the meeting table, creating a strong architectural centrepiece while delivering effective illumination across the main working area. Vasco EVO‘s bi-directional light output distributes 30% upwards and 70% downwards, helping to provide balanced illumination within commercial environments.

Around the perimeter of the room, Unity Rectangular luminaires were installed to complement the Vasco EVO and provide additional illumination around the edges of the space.

Both lighting elements were integrated with OCTO smart control, giving users greater control over the lighting and allowing different settings to be created to suit meetings, presentations and other activities.

To add another dimension to the design, P-Cell RGBTW LED strip was integrated into the wall to create a striking illuminated feature. Controlled through OCTO, the strip provides the flexibility to change colour, brightness and white colour temperature, allowing the feature wall to be adapted to create different effects and atmospheres. OCTO also enables lighting scenes to be created and recalled, making it easy to transform the room for different requirements.

The Result

The completed scheme has transformed the Pitts Wilson meeting room into a contemporary, adaptable space where functional and feature lighting work together.

Vasco EVO provides focused illumination over the central table, while the Unity Rectangular fittings create balanced lighting around the room. The P-Cell RGBTW feature wall adds visual impact and gives the space a completely different character when colour is introduced.

With OCTO bringing the different elements together, users have the flexibility to adjust the lighting and create different scenes to suit how the boardroom is being used. The result is a smart, professional meeting environment that can move effortlessly from everyday working light to a more distinctive, atmospheric setting.
