D-Cell Dim-to-Warm LED Strip

Ansell Lighting offer LED Strip for commercial and industrial use which can be controlled via Casambi and for residential use via WiZ with the installation of a controller.

As the distance increases away from the driver, the amount of light produced reduces by the stated factor and where the maximum length is exceeded, the LED Strip will at that point will appear visibly somewhat dimmer, however it will still continue to operate.

There is a maximum length stated for LED Strip and this will be dependent upon the characteristics of each different Strip. Basically, this is a low voltage DC circuit, where the amount of light produced by the individual LED’s is dependent upon receiving the specified forward current by way of the appropriate voltage, and this diminishes as the distance away from the Driver end of the strip increases. All LED Strips are quoted with details of the voltage drop over length.

For many types of LED Strip, making a corner joint will require cutting and either reconnecting with connectors or in soldering the joints, however, the Ansell Z-Cell is an LED Strip which can bend around corners without connectors or accessories, thereby maintaining the continuity of the LED Strip across its length.

All LED Strip is marked with the appropriate cut points and the strip should only be cut at those marked points displayed on the Strip itself. As LED Strip is basically constructed from a number of circuits in series, which are then installed in parallel, cutting at any other point will result in the last circuit not being fully connected and therefore will not operate in producing illumination.

When using IP20 rated strip, this is possible with using the supplied connectors, however for IP65 and IP67 rated strip, the installer will be required to solder joints, in order to maintain ingress protection.

A main benefit is in its ability to offer an LED variant of the accepted incandescent light source in a linear version and in providing a very low colour temperature, right down to that of candlelight at around 1800K, where current trends within residential applications is a requirement for a warmer CCT low level of illuminance light source. An ideal solution allowing restaurants to create that softer and more intimate ambient light for customers.

D- Cell strip offers an ideal solution for domestic installation, mainly for internal use, such as living rooms and bedrooms, as well as a wide range of hospitality environments, such as hotels and restaurants. A great answer for the illumination behind ceiling pelmets and in coffered ceilings alongside offering a solution for under shelf lighting and alcove lighting. Can be used either with or without the available aluminium extrusion options.

D-Cell strip offers a colour temperature of 3000K down to 1800K, which mimics a dimming regime similar to that of conventional dichroic halogen lamp. When product provides full illumination, at 100% of output, the colour temperature is 3000K, and as the LED Strip is dimmed, the colour temperature reduces so as to create a comfortable, warmer light, ideal within a domestic installation
