Z-Cell Irregular Bend LED Strip

Ansell Lighting offer LED Strip for commercial and industrial use which can be controlled via Casambi and for residential use via WiZ with the installation of a controller.

As the distance increases away from the driver, the amount of light produced reduces by the stated factor and where the maximum length is exceeded, the LED Strip will at that point will appear visibly somewhat dimmer, however it will still continue to operate.

There is a maximum length stated for LED Strip and this will be dependent upon the characteristics of each different Strip. Basically, this is a low voltage DC circuit, where the amount of light produced by the individual LED’s is dependent upon receiving the specified forward current by way of the appropriate voltage, and this diminishes as the distance away from the Driver end of the strip increases. All LED Strips are quoted with details of the voltage drop over length.

For many types of LED Strip, making a corner joint will require cutting and either reconnecting with connectors or in soldering the joints, however, the Ansell Z-Cell is an LED Strip which can bend around corners without connectors or accessories, thereby maintaining the continuity of the LED Strip across its length.

All LED Strip is marked with the appropriate cut points and the strip should only be cut at those marked points displayed on the Strip itself. As LED Strip is basically constructed from a number of circuits in series, which are then installed in parallel, cutting at any other point will result in the last circuit not being fully connected and therefore will not operate in producing illumination.

When using IP20 rated strip, this is possible with using the supplied connectors, however for IP65 and IP67 rated strip, the installer will be required to solder joints, in order to maintain ingress protection.

The main feature is that the product has a distinctive PCB design in providing its ability to bend around corners on the horizontal plane, without the need for connectors, allowing for continuous illumination and negating the need for additional cutting and potentially increased numbers of LED Drivers. In both IP20 for internal use, where ingress protection is not a requirement and IP65 and IP67 where it is, as well as for external use allows flexibility in installation use.

The Z-Cell offers an ideal solution for the domestic residential application, with regard to living rooms and bedrooms, in addition to under kitchen cupboards, with its ability to bend round corners, for the hospitality sector with regard to hotels and restaurants, as well as for the retail sector illuminating signage and for display lighting.

The Z-Cell LED Strip, irregular bend, is an LED product which has a distinctive PCB design to allow it to be bent on the horizontal plane, without the need for cutting or connectors, which means that both a continuous run and continuous output, without any loss of light or dark-spots around the corners.
